A sustainable, robust, and highly sensitive solution for RNA pathogen detection using eQo 1-Step ToughMix
Subrata Panja
Associate Director Field Applications
Quantabio
The critical need for high sensitivity in detecting low copies of RNA viruses and human pathogens prompted the development of eQo 1-Step ToughMix, addressing a significant public health challenge. eQo 1-Step ToughMix features a thermostable and inhibitor-tolerant reverse transcriptase combined with an optimized buffer system that enables the detection of RNA pathogens, such as human influenza, coronavirus, avian influenza, and other infectious RNA viruses, from both pure and crude RNA samples, with detection limits as low as two target copies.
Identifying and Interrupting Intra-Hospital Norovirus GII Transmission
Robert Frederick Potter, PhD, D(ABMM)
Assistant Director, Infectious Disease Diagnostics Laboratory
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
Norovirus GII is a leading cause of gastroenteritis, with nosocomial transmission posing significant challenges, especially in pediatric settings. In this webinar, Dr. Robert Potter from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia will share how whole-genome sequencing (WGS) is being used to identify and interrupt intra-hospital Norovirus outbreaks.
Since July 2024, CHOP has implemented viral WGS of Norovirus GII-positive samples to strengthen infection prevention and control (IPC) efforts. Dr. Potter will discuss methods, key findings, and future directions for using genomic data to combat outbreaks effectively.

Most NGS workflows utilize a PCR amplification step, which requires a fast, accurate, and inhibitor-tolerant PCR master mix. Until now, there has been little advancement in PCR. In this webinar, we introduce a newly engineered enzyme and optimally formulated PCR master mix, repliQa HiFi ToughMix. Our resident NGS expert Subrata Panja, explains how repliQa HiFi ToughMix can benefit a wide range of NGS applications for both Illumina and long-read sequencing platforms.
