eQo (pronounced “ee-ko”, /e.koʊ-/, ) is our new product technology platform that brings together a mix of innovations in enzyme engineering, buffer chemistry and packaging. The result is cutting edge performance in a sustainable, earth-friendly format. The vision is to eliminate cold chain and dry ice requirements for molecular biology reagents, which is required to ship around the world. This will reduce our carbon footprint while simultaneously improving product ease of use, shelf-life, stability and performance. Together, we can improve science and the world.

These are not simply lyophilized versions of our popular ToughMix line of reagents – eQo products have been designed from the ground up with novel enzymes and proprietary buffer formulations to deliver outstanding performance and stability. There are no compromises – premium performance with lyophilized convenience.
eQo means stable.
eQo reagents are designed to be stable under a wide range of conditions, with flexibility to fit your existing liquid-based reagent workflows. In lyophilized format the reagent can sit on your benchtop for up to a year and can temporarily withstand above-ambient elevated temperatures for transport out to the field. Once rehydrated, the liquid master mix functions just like our premium liquid reagent solutions: stable for up to 1 year at -20C and able to survive at least 20 freeze thaw cycles.
eQo means sustainable.
Through lyophilization, with our eQo bead technology, we are able to eliminate the dry ice shipping requirement, without sacrificing performance. Smaller, lighter shipping containers without contributing additional CO2 to the environment – better for the earth, better for your budget.

eQo 1-step ToughMix is the first product carrying the eQo badge. It is a lyophilized reagent system for reverse transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) of RNA templates using hybridization probe detection chemistries such as TaqMan® 5’-hydrolysis probes. It is supplied with a proprietary rehydration buffer that when combined with the lyophilized eQo beads produces a stabilized 4X concentrated master mix.
