Senior Associate Scientist

To strengthen our team in R&D team, we are looking for a Senior Associate Scientist. 

Position Description

The Senior Associate Scientist will work as a member of the Quantabio Product Development Team and will participate in the following:

  • Investigate, develop, and commercialize innovative products and workflows for the amplification and analysis of DNA and RNA in applied translational and life science research markets under the supervision of senior scientific staff
  • Specific areas of interest include qPCR, reverse transcription, sample preparation, and library preparation for next-generation sequencing (NGS)
  • Primary duties include the biochemical characterization of novel enzymes, assay development, and the formulation, testing, and commercialization of advanced reagent systems.
  • Increasing levels of independence are expected following training and experience.
  • The successful candidate should possess a working knowledge of enzymes used in molecular biology, especially polymerases, reverse transcriptase’s, and ligases, and to be familiar with molecular biology methods for nucleic acid analysis.
  • Experience in the field of lyophilization technology (formulation and process) is highly desirable.

 

Position Requirements

  • MS degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genomics or related field, with 2-5 years of Biotech industry experience; or BS degree with 5-8 years of comparable Biotech industry experience.
  • Experience in the expression/purification and biochemical characterization of novel enzymes is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools, including the use of DOE methodologies and statistical methods, and hands-on experience with bioinformatics tools for NGS data analysis are desirable assets.
  • Experience in product and application development in the area of nucleic acid amplification and sample preparation for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) is highly preferred.
