History and Vision

In June 2001 a small team of pioneering individuals launched Quanta Biosciences with the vision of building a focused company known and respected for providing superior tools for quantitative PCR. This vision is being realized through Quanta's current and planned portfolio of next generation qPCR products with unparalleled performance characteristics.

Scientific founders of Quanta have a legacy of innovation and achievement in developing amplification enzymes. They led the development of pioneering amplification reagents such as SuperScript® RT-PCR Systems and Platinum®Taq, during their tenure with Invitrogen and formerly with Life Technologies/BRL. It is exactly this depth and breadth of experience and unique insight that has enabled Quanta to build a portfolio of outstanding qPCR reagents.

Quanta understands that scientific discovery comes mostly in small steps. They know that relentless, focused, attention to detail yields results and they are of the mindset that continuously challenging and fine-tuning procedures leads to superior technologies. They respect hard work, shared ideas, and a pioneering spirit.

Since 2001 Quanta has been successfully providing its products to the research community through a manufacturing relationship with Bio-Rad Laboratories. Again, familiar brands such as iScript™, iQ™ SuperMix, and iTaq™ were developed by Quanta's founding scientists. The relationship with Bio-Rad has expired. Quanta is excited to bring their next generation qPCR, and associated products, directly to life science and drug discovery researchers.

Through their current collection of high performance qPCR reagents, qScript™, PerfeCTa™ and AccuStart™ Quanta is helping drive scientific discovery while working on the development of a portfolio of next generation technologies and staying true to its goal of Perfecting qPCR.
